I applied to a job posting for a "Data Entry Clerk" on the job posting platform, Indeed. The company was advertised as Allegro Ophthalmics. They asked me to download a messaging app to contact a lady that asked me "Interview" questions. She then told me the jobs duties and asked if it seemed to strenuous, to which I said no. She told me I got the job and that they would send me a check for at home office supplies. The check was sent to my email with the amount of $2,480, written to me and signed on the back for mobile deposit only. After a few failed attempts at depositing the check I began doing some research online and on Reddit which I found that people had similar experiences with some other fake companies in an attempt to scam them. They got my routing number, direct deposit number and social security (because they sent me forms about taxes and general job forms). After I sent the lady a message saying it would not deposit into my account she told me to cut it out properly and try again. I then sent a message asking to speak to her on the phone and she has not responded since.

I applied for a remote data entry clerk position on indeed and was picked for the job rather quickly, I received an email from the CEO of the company with pdf documents that I filled out and sent in.

I also talked to a woman on the signal message app that was my hiring manager who I disclosure personal information to. After my documents were accepted, I was sent a png check to deposit to my bank which was luckily put on hold which allowed me to check the ScamPulse.com in their state of California and see that they weren't acknowledged at all.
