Purchased some wholesale items off of Alibaba's website. The seller required a $350 Western Union payment. I transferred the money, and then received a tracking number and invoice for my purchase. After tracking my shipment, I was told that my order was on hold at customs, and required an additional $500 to release the package and continue shipment. A few days later, I got the same notification, saying that my package was on hold in "Mexico City, USA" and that I needed to pay another $698 to release it. At this point I made a point to the seller on WhatsApp that I was skeptical, and believed it was a scam. I told them I would not be paying any more money to anyone.
