Type of a scam Employment
I had almost got caught by a internet job scam and it might be related. I had accepted a job offer from Allorion Therapeutics. "Company" wanted to send several pieces of equipment for an office for a remote data entry job. They sent all job related forms including direct deposit form, W-4, offer acceptance form and requested for voided check, copies of driver's license & more. I called the company and no answer. Allorion Therapeutics is a real company and exists. I looked up the CEO of the company and I called. He answered and said they were not hiring and he did not know the supervisor's name that contacted me. Directions from the supervisor were that money was going to be deposited into my account, equipment would arrive and I would have to pay for the equipment from the account. After one year of work, the equipment would be mine to keep. I did not send my information on the job forms. I do not know what to do with the check. I will not accept a delivery of equipment. I will notify this Molly Sookdeo who appears to be a real person according to the internet.
