Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
They 1st sent me a company check for $5,000 to be used for the equipment they were to send me for an "At-Home" office. I was pressured to quickly deposit the funds in my personal bank account, them get a certified cashier check & quickly deposit it to a specific person's checking account. I did that. Then their check bounced & I was on the hook for the $5,000. Alpex Solar told me that this was the 1st time in their history that had ever happened. I quickly contacted my bank & they were able to stop payment on the certified cashier check.
I assume that since they did not get the $5,000, they tried to Scam me a 2nd time. This time the check they sent me was for $8,900. I was smarter this time. I deposited that check into a new personal bank acount with a local Fifth Third Bank. I told them that I would withdraw cash & deposit where ever they directed... This 2nd check was also found to be fraudulent. It has been 2 days now & they haven't replied to my daily emails.
One more point of concern is that they required me to fill out a W-4 form which has my SS #. This may open me up to identity theft.
