Alpha Merles/Fruity Pebbles one in the same

I googled Australian Shepherds and the Alpha Merles website came up. I emailed them that I was interested in a puppy named Mia. They sent me additional photos of her and even sent a video. I asked them to send me a video of another puppy named Charlie, and they did.
Their website mentions that there are two free shipping coupons available. The puppy was priced at $705 and shipping would be $95 for a total of $800.
"Sam" sent me a contract to sign. He told me there were three payment options - paypal, Zelle, or if I wanted to take advantage of the free shipping coupon, I could go to a Walgreens or CVS, buy two American Express gift cards for $350 each, take pictures of the front and back and email them separately to him. I was also told to take a picture of the receipt and email that also. He said he would deposit the money into his American Express account and American Express would issue the free shipping voucher.
I sent the gift cards to Sam on Saturday, April 1st. That night I received a message from him saying he was awaiting news from the shipping company about Mia's itinerary, but the shipping company contacted him and told him they could not ship the puppy without a $1,000 insurance policy of which $980 would be refunded to me at the airport when Mia was delivered. I called the shipping company and knew it was a scam. The guys had heavy accents and couldn't even speak English.
Sam still tried to get more money out of me. He told me he'd pay $600 if I'd pay $400. I told him I wasn't going to give him another penny.
I contacted American Express gift cards and was told that the gift cards had a zero balance. They were cashed by Air Drop Angels LLC, and used at a household appliance store in Derry, NH.
Little did I know that the same puppies pictures were on Fruity Australian Shepherds and this was a scam. The puppies pictures were taken from the internet. These puppies are probably full grown dogs by now living happily with their real owners.
