I was looking for a rental home. Who I thought was a reliable Facebook friend sent me a contact. I Answered all the questions the contact asked and submitted the application for approval including my ssn and front and back of my drivers license and email addresses. He sent me a link to ID ME the irs site and said it was for a background check. I click the link verified my face and drivers license. It was rejected because I already had an account. He sent another link for me to reset my password. I became suspicious and asked him to check my background a different way. He said I was approved for the home but the manual application failed and to complete I need to finish the ID me verification. I declined again and never heard anything else.
