I was shopping for a few items online and found this website that said it was an outlet store to a store I normally shop at (Altar'd State). I looked through the website (not thoroughly enough) and thought it looked legitimate. The prices weren't too-good-to-be-true and there were items at discount that I had seen previously on the actual Altar'd State website and it all seemed good. So, I purchased some items with my debit card but I never received a confirmation email and never saw a charge on my checking account. I tried emailing the company three separate times (giving a week in between times) but never got a response, and there was not way I could cancel my order. That's when I started getting suspicious. So, I looked up the website for this company and it ended up being a clinic in California and not a store or even a warehouse. I should have looked it up before I bought anything. I wasn't sure what to do except wait to see if an unauthorized purchase was made on my account. Sure enough, today (02/21/2023) there was a purchase amount of $204.90 (much more that I spent) on my checking account. Thankfully I was able to cancel my debit card and dispute the charge and will eventually get my money back. This is the first time I've ever been scammed through a website. I'm usually very careful but this has certainly opened my eyes to be even more careful what website I do business with. It makes me so angry that people are out there to steal people's money and I do not want someone to get conned into this particular website like I was.
