I came across the pictures of a dog I liked. I did a Tin Eye search that reported it was a unique photo and the scammer even sent a video of the puppy. Reading through some testimonials I decided to take a leap of faith (bad idea).
They wanted payment with gift cards but I refused so finally they agreed to payment through Zelle and the Cash app for $900 (both of which draw funds from my bank.
In addition to the push to use gift cards my suspicion was really raised when I received an email saying that I needed to pay for medical checks for the dog to travel. The English was bad and the email screamed fake. It also claimed the flight time from Charlotte, S.C. to Dulles was seven hours (at most it is 90 minutes)
