I responded to an ad for an RV on Craigslist. I was a little skeptical because the price was low for what he was offering. I contacted seller and she responded by telling me her husband recently passed away and she was now selling RV. The ad ran showing RV was located in Wisconsin however in 1st email she told me she had recently had throat surgery and was staying with her daughter in North Dakota. She was using a shipping company by the name Wesco Logistics and they would be handling the transaction since they would insure everything. That way both seller and buyer were “ protected”. If we chose to purchase the RV we would receive shipment in 3-5 days at our location. Upon receiving the RV if for any reason we were not happy we could have it shipped back at sellers expense. After reading the first email I knew it was a scam so I proceeded to look up the shipping company (Wesco Logistics) and found a fraud alert. I received another email from seller telling me she was sorry she hadn’t made contact again because she had an accident at work (hmmmm thought you were recovering from throat surgery). I am sure that if we had proceeded with purchase we would of been asked to wire money and ever heard from seller again. Anyway to make a longer story short I sent a email back telling her I thought it was all a scam and were no longer going to communicate with her. I’m hoping by sharing this we can get his ad off of craigslist so nobody is fooled by this person. Below is copy of one of emails

I had a throat surgery and I really have a full schedule - I hope you can understand my situation. For sure, you can come when is the best for you, but I would like the shipping company as a guarantee. Meantime, I could sell it to someone else. I was very honest about my current situation - I want the deal to be handled by the shipping company. I want to use their escrow and transport services as they offer 100% protection and insurance to both buyer and seller. The price includes the delivery to your location and the best part about this is that you have 5 days to try it out prior to making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don't like about it, you can send it back at my expense.

So if you agree, please email me the buyer's info: full name, address and phone. I'll get things starting and they will guide you trough the process.
