Hello Mr. %#^&@,
We would like to inform that Your order has been dispatched. If you did not place this order please call us on *************8 to report this to our fraud protection team.
The letter went on to describe what was order, where it was being shipped, and expected arrival date and tracking #. It was for a large screen tv and gaming system, total price $6,101.49.
I called the 800 number and explained that I ordered no such merchandise and knew of nobody that lived in Delaware where it was shipping too. They told me to hold on and they would check on it. Came back and told me that there was a Amazon card opened in my name and that several days prior somebody had charge $400.00 to eBay. Again I stressed that neither of these were done by me. They told me that probably someone had hacked my information on line. They then told me that they would connect me with tech support. After discussing the matter with the (male tech support person), he convinced me that he would help me clear up my problem. Instructed me to go to a Walgreens and purchase $400.00 in eBay gift cards. After purchasing said cards he instructed me to scratch off the numbers on the back and read them to him. Said by doing this that he could determine how many hackers were attempting to steal my info. And that I would be reimbursed in full from Amazon once these procedures were completed. After giving him the numbers he then said I needed to get $600 more in eBay cards to complete the next step of cleaning my iPhone and iPad. Unfortunately I did this and repeated above process. After that he said I needed to get $1000.00 more in eBay cards to complete the next step. I said no and he continued to try and talk me into it. He then sent me an email with the address of Amazon Support
