I HAD GOT A CALL FRAUD CALL FROM AMAZON ABOUT A SOMEBODY TRYING TO MAKE 900.00 CHARGE ON MY CARD WAS IT YOU I SAID NO IT WASNT ME THEY CONNECT ME TO A FRAUD LINE THATSS WHEN THESE SO CALL SPECIAL INVESTIGATION PEOPLE ON THE PHONE TELLING I HAAD SEVERAL AMAZON CARDS IN MY NAME I SAID I DONT THEY MME THAT I WAS UNDER INVESTIGATION WITH MONEY LAUNDERING AND STOLEN PROPERTY IN DIFFERENT STATES IN MY NAME WITH THIS CARDS THEY WANTED ME TO GO TO THE BANK AND WITHDRAW ALL MY MONEY OUT AND PUT IT ON A MONEY CARD AND THEY COME TO MY HOUSE AND SCAN THE CARD THEY SAID I WILL BE GETTING ARRESTED IF I DID NOT WHAT THEY SAID AND THEY GOT TO GET ME A NEW SOCIAL SECURITY CARD SO THEY CATCH WHO IS USING MY SOCIAL AND ALL MY ACCTS WILL GO UNDER MY NEW SOCIAL THATS WHY THEY ME TO AND WITHDRAW ALL MY MONEY OUT AND PUT IT ON A WALMART MONEYCARD

Phone call pretending to be Amazon and prompted to say “yes” when they asked if my name was Shelby, which it is.

I received this phone call around 1639 (439pm) Sunday, September 3, 2023. I am currently expecting a package to come from Amazon later this evening. At first glance, I thought it was very weird that Amazon was trying to contact me through their Customer Service dept. I am in my mid-20s and knew that something was wrong. Sure enough, I wanted to report this number through the FCC and came across this page by the BBB. I never lost any money and promptly hung up, making the call only about 10 seconds. Such a shame! Not all numbers will come across as a Potential Scam/Fraud Alert, so be sure to double check and report these numbers.

I found this phone number when I googled Amazon customer service. I received an item that was defective which said it was non-refundable,so I called to see why.The person I talked with said needed my debit card number to reimburse me.The call got more and more suspicious as it went on,so I hung up.Found out the next day that two charges were on my bank account,so I cancelled that card.
