Husband tried to set up new TV. Amazon prime video wouldn't work and needed to input a code. He googled amazon mytv instead of going to the site. He was given a number to call. Man with Indian accent answered and said he needed to remove items from server but to do so needed my husband to purchase 2 gift cards and said money would be refunded. After doing so, he was told the refund was stuck in the server and needed to download an app called "any desk" then to send zelle and then get a target gift cards and provide the info which he did. When the refund still wouldnt go through the guy said he would call the next day. The next day it was the same routine. Got remote access via that app, needed zelle sent to 5 supervisors and a gift card. When I heard what was going on and started asking why this was needed and why they supervisors emails weren't amazon.com and how gift cards can verify anything, the guy started telling my husband very loudly not to listen to me and that this was between them and how he is trying to help. My husband fell for it and did the same thing again. Afterwards the scammer said he would call the next day because it still didnt work. Thats when I looked up the scam and explained to my husband. I told him how to report to bank, zelle, remove apps and change passwords. The following day they called multiple times and even called my 13 year olds phone. I answered and told them to stop calling my child. I dont even know how they got that number. Then as I questioned, he said he didnt want to talk to me and i dont understand the process because I am not tech support. Then when I started calling him a scammer and asking why a big company like amazon couldnt just refund the card like they do for returns and also why the number isn't on google, he hung up. Then they called my husband from another number in California which I again answered but not so nicely. He started yelling at me to put my husband on the phone. When I told him I work for the feds and was tracing this call he hung up and didnt call back. The person said his name was Jordan Mark. He called from 4302766059 as well as the 8887187247 and 6615326451. The emails he gave for his supervisors that my husband sent zelle to are attached.
