The scammer gives the impression through the website, Amazon Publishing Pros, that it is affiliated with the company Amazon. However, it is not. There is then a process of consultation and ultimately a sale is made for a service. Since this is purportedly an online publishing company I opted for what was called a wide distribution plan + a bronze marketing plan. I was then given a project manager by the name, Ted Novak. When "Ted" called me he had an Indian accent. I was bothered by the phony name but knew from previous experiences workers in India often change names to make things easier for western ears. I was then directed to a portal called "Basecamp" which was to be utilized as the space to communicate with a team and manage projects. But communication was poor and questions I asked went unanswered. And while there were attempts to format my book, "Ted" was pushing me to hurry up with additional changes so that the book could get published in due course. I found this unseemly to say the least. It was then that I began doubting the authenticity of the business.

I think it's operated by a few individuals at most and done so out of India. A veneer of professionalism is presented but that is to solely get the money upfront, the rest of the work be damned.
