“Yes this is Amber Larson and this message is concerning your unsecured credit debt um I need to discuss your consolidation or repayment options with the new changes that have taken affect so if you could please be sure to give me a call back my number is 8668401441 with your reference number of 990005 thank you…”
The person on the voicemail must be a recording because it was not automated and no accent. Also, other people have reported receiving the same voicemail with the same reference number.
I called back to verify that it was indeed a scam (as I have no outstanding debts) and they asked for all sorts of personal information including my first and last name. At that point, I notified the person on the line that I knew it was a scam and she replied by in turn, calling me a scam by my real name. I then hung up and blocked the number as them having my real name was enough for me to feel the need to file a report.
