I needed to correct a mistake I made entering my name on an American Airline ticket. I couldn’t change the name field myself and the Website said to contact customer service.

I Googled “American Airline name change customer service” and got 1 (855) 546-5592. I called and they identified as a consolidator for American and charged me $125 to do it. They were very Insistent that to cancel and rebook would be wildly more expensive—so I paid for it.

Then I got a confirmation FROM AMERICAN AIRLINES with new record locator and corrected name. How did they get into the AA system?

Only when I searched the web for the phone number above did I see links to many other airline names and how to change your name.

I called the number again and was told they are a third party consolidator for customer service of many airlines

Purchase a ticket for American Airlines and paid $263.00 for the ticket.  Later i found out I couldn't go so, I call to get my refund back.  Later a guy called me back saying I have to put $100.00 on and iTune card in order to get my refund back.  he guy put me on hold and I thought I was still talking to American Airlines and later I found out I was talking to a scammer who wanted me to put more money on the card to get my refund back.

I answered my cell and the person said they were from American Airlines and asked how I was. I said fine, and they asked if I remembered filling out something to win a vacation and I said no, then the caller hung up on me

On Saturday February 4, 2017 I received a phone call on my cell phone. The caller, a male with a heavy foreign accent, said: "This is ......from American Airlines" (I couldn't understand the name he said). I responded;"Yes?" and the caller immediately hanged up. This sounds very similar to the "Can you hear me?" scam that it's going around where they try to get people to answer "yes". That's why I decided to report it to the Fairfax County Police and they ask me to report it to the ScamPulse.com scam tracker. The phone number of the caller was 703-973-0231. When I called that number there was a message that said "the wireless caller you are trying to reach is not available" ...obviously it wasn't American Airlines.

I was approached at JFK airport on December 23, 2016 by an American Airlines sales person who offered a round trip ticket anywhere in the US if I opened a AAdvantage credit card right then, which I did. She took all my information, run a credit check, waited until I got approved and gave me a receipt saying I'd be getting my card in the mail.

Today I called AA to redeem my round trip ticket and no one in the organization has any knowledge of such an offer.
