I looked online to purchase a dog when I found this website “americanbrittanyhome.com” the website looked promising and well formed. I then used the website to contact the owners to get more information on the animal. They replied back with a lengthy formal email providing information on how the whole operation worked. They then proceeded to ask me information about myself. We proceeded with the initial payment of $850. The next day we were asked to provide an additional “refundable” $1500 for shipment rental for a dog crate. After waiting we were told that we would need to pay an additional $700 for refundable insurance and that is when we questioned the operation. After doing some research we found that the delivery service was a scam which corresponded with the dog site. We asked for our money back after not receiving the dog and they refused to do so then blocked the number used. I contacted my bank and they were unable to determine whether the funds could be reimbursed and the zelle app that was used to transfer the funds was unable to dispute the charges as well.
