I received rebates in the form of 2 $10.00 American Express rebate "prepaid reward" cards from Micro Center. I'd waited weeks to receive these. When I checked the card balances, I discovered AMEX had subtracted $2/month from the balances.

This is a scam and must be illegal. It's more ludicrous than a usury tax - an illegal tax rate on money borrowed, whereas this is a tax on money AMEX OWES me. If someone hasn't already filed a class action lawsuit - I will. These AMEX cards state on the back, "Subject to applicable law, a $2.00 monthly fee will be assessed against card balance starting 5 months after card issuance. Funds do not expire." This is unacceptable. I want AMEX to reimburse me all $20 I am owed, and to reimburse all others who've been ripped off by this scam.
