American Forces Travel - Priceline Reports & Reviews (1)

American Forces Travel falsely advertises that they provide military families discounts if travel plans are made through their website. They even force you to put in your service dates in order to access the website. We recently made reservations through their website for the first week in September. We made reservations 9 days in advance to celebrate our first wedding anniversary in Las Vegas at The Venetian Hotel. We arrived at about 1 am Friday morning with reservations booked for Thursday night. The line to check in was long but we waited patiently. When it was our turn, we were offered an upgrade, which we declined ecause it would have added an additional $1000 to our reservation. While overhearing the attendant next to us sell a 2 Queen bed room to someone who had NO reservation, we are told we will be put in a "bigger suite" but it had a pull down bed. It was a meeting room with the worst bed possible. We couldn't unpack because the best they could do for us was move us the next day to the suite we paid for. We ended up losing a day of vacation due to all the shuffling around. When I asked for a refund for that first night, we were refunded the resort fee but told we would have to go through our third partt vendor for a refund. When I mention "American Forces Travel", exclusively for military families, they could care less. They don't offer any military discounts unless we book directly with them (so what does that tell you about American Forces Travel = SCAM). The Venetian also claimed that AFT didn't inform them it was a special occasionm for us. We lost a whole day of vacation dealing with room change, speaking to managers, etc. Long story short, here I am, more than 2 weeks after out on my second call to American Forces Travel and neither will do anything to refund the first night, not The Venetian or American Forces Travel. AFT tried but The Venetian shut it down and refused. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! The food wasn't even good there. It was such a waste of money, especially after this experience! So much for celebrating our first anniversary at The Venetian!
