My parents hired American H Contractors to install a new stoop. They initially said $10,000; however, on the contract wrote $11,000. They ran into another problem and had to install a retaining wall. Wrote up another contract for a total of $40,000. They were paid $15,000 on May 11th, 2023. Every week coming back asking for more money. Finally, my parents said "we're not giving you anymore money". They came back on May 25th, 2023 and got another check for $18,000 for a total of $33,000. The job was horrendous and not complete. They had to hire another guy who was referred to them to complete the job which should be done by this weekend. It does not cost $40,000 for a stoop and retaining wall. I called them up asking for their license and business address, they said they'd provide it the next day via text and never did. I requested it two other occasions, but they failed to give it to me. They are no longer allowed on my parents property. My Mom is 78 and Dad 80. My mom hasn't been feeling well and is under medication. I believe she was confused, writing out the check for them.
