The American Law Enforcement United Alliance contacted me by phone. It was a local number and I assumed incorrectly that it was our local police force. The person who called was a man (Brian) and asked if he could send me information in the mail about donating to a police charity. The charity supported law enforcement and they were asking for donations in the amount of $50, $35, or $25 (gold, silver, bronze levels). I agreed to $25 and was transferred to another person to confirm the amount. They both asked if I was ok with the amount being donated. The second man asked for my credit card. I indicated that the first man told me I would be sent something in the mail. He quickly said yes that can be done as long as I agreed to return the donation within 5 days. He rattled off a bunch of info about the group but it was too quick for me to even comprehend. I did however remember the phone number he stated, 855-611-3131. I looked it up and it took me to this website https://aleua.org/ which is very sparse and does not have much info. I suspect that this call is a scam.

The "American Law Enforcement United Alliance" contacted me by phone saying they were located in Annapolis Maryland. The person who called was a man with an American accent and asked if I was willing to donate to a police charity. I said yes and was immediately transfered to someone with an Indian accent requesting my credit card number and amount I wanted to donate. I said I do not give that info over the phone and would need something in the mail. he still pressured me to donate over the phone but eventually agreed to send me info in the mail.

When I received the letter the return address was in Milwaukee so I looked up the "organization". I found that their name was a play on the "law Enforcement Alliance of America" which is a legitimate charity/political group. The only info on the ALEUA is on Spam reporting sites.
