They told me that I won 2nd place in a sweepstakes America sweepstakes network in sum of a half million dollars but I have to send 6500 for the insurance and that I would get it back when they deliver my winnings. Which after doing research and calling the irs I found out the consumer protection bureau that is on the website is a scam as well.

Consumer received a call yesterday from a woman claiming to be from the American Sweepstakes Network, her name was Jessica Moran. She told me she is with the Consumer Protection Division of the Federal Trade Commission. Her phone number is 703-297-8842. The claim for the money has to go through the CFO, Edward Prone, 702-487-3779. She claimed my husband won $650k and we would only have to pay 1% upfront. The issue is that my husband died in November. I have seen other scams like this.

Today I got a call from David Nelson w/a foreign accent, American Sweepstakes Network in Washington DC 3124285070. Asked if anyone had told me I had won $750,000 in September 2016. I never called to claim it. They were checking to make sure I knew about the winnings. They mentioned BBB. They mentioned Publishers Clearinghouse. He told me to call the National Gaming Commission in Chicago to verify the winnings. He asked me to pay $750 in a cashier's check for taxes. He said it wasn't a scam.

I'm 69 yrs old. I got a call on 1.12.18 from American Sweepstakes Network. He said I'd won $775,000 and I needed to pay 1% of prize for taxes, $775.00. He warned me that if I shared the phone call with anyone I would forfeit the prize. He didn't have an accent, he was American. He had my address. He said to call the sweepstakes number, and to be ready to pay at least half of the $775.00 when I called them 866-978-4777. He was very insistent. He asked me what I wanted. And I said like what, and he hung up.

My mother received a call from American Sweepstakes Network stating that she had won $750,000. They first asked for $7000 and when she said that she did not have the money, they told her that she could qualify for financial aid and that it would bring the amount down to $500. She was told that the FBI had been searching for her so that she could receive her prize.

Received a call from a Abraham Cohen from American Sweepstakes network claiming they were the facilitators for a Publishers Clearing House entry they claim I submitted. I had been awarded $750,000 as a second place prize winner. I was told to call a Fred Curry at (202)851-0467 who is supposed to be a government employee who has to approve my ID and also send a check(who they claim will be returned uncashed) for $3500. After Mr. Curry confirms I am who I say I am he contacts Mr. Cohen to release the $750,000 check to be delivered by Brinks Armored Car Service.

I received a phone call from a man (phone #: 702-602-4555) that claimed he was a delivery person for Jet Air Courier Services. He told me that he tried to deliver a paper envelope to me on Tuesday and that no one was home to accept it; there was someone home all day except for one hour (5:30-6:30pm). He then told me he had no information on the envelope and that I would need to contact Financial Services at 202-734-6190. They gave me a claim number of 5050J for a $450,000 lottery winning from American Sweepstakes Network. The lady then told me that she couldn't discuss it with me and I would need to contact their lawyers at 202-734-6170. I then contacted the "lawyers" and was told that they were FDIC lawyers. I was then disconnected & then contacted the FDIC by suggestion of the BBB. The FDIC then in formed me that it sounded like a scam so I then called the ScamPulse.com back and was directed to this scam reporting site. As I was reporting, I then got a call back from a man saying he was Chris Schwartz from the 6170 number. He then told me that because of The Patriot Act that any money being sent across state lines over $250,000 that I would need a government background check that would cost me $2,500. I then told him I was a disabled individual on SSDI (not revealing any private info) and he told me that they would try to get Social Security to pay the fee. I then told him that O have been taught not to give out personal information & to never give money to get money. He then told me he didn't want to hear my bitching; that irritated me and I regrettably called him an a**hole and hung up. I'm so frustrated with this harassment and individuals trying to scam the elderly & disabled.

Says he is with the National Consumer Protection Bureau

Claim number is

Said my husband won nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars, we have to pay one percent as an Identity Documentation bond.

John Flores called from Washington DC, Maryland. Said he's from "Consumer Financial Protection" office @ 202-836-9671. Claims I won $585,000. To receive a cashier's check after completing "acceptance notification letter". Gave me a claim number. Asked me to call Prudential in Las Vegas @ 1-866-978-4780 & ask for Mike Lowry or Christopher Robertson. Said they needed to insure the money through Prudential. Prudential is an insurance company.
