On 3/26/21 I was contacted about a home for rent. I set up a time for my family and I to take a look. The individual text me a code to open the security box on the door to get the key and then my family and I got in quickly and viewed the home. We were given a sob story at the time about the man's wife has cancer and they had to move closer to her family, and that they would not be returning due to the memories and that he has been looking for a god fearing family that will take care of the home as if it is theirs. At the time we did not know that his story was a huge lie. So after viewing the home we were told if we like to proceed with the payment of 1500 for the security deposit everything seemed real. The only thing is I couldn't link bank accounts due to mine being out of state and so the only way I was told to be able to get the money direct deposit into what we thought was the "landlord" was through prepaid Visa cards. I trusted this person with our life at the time. He then emailed my husband the lease agreement to sign after running our background checks he then said we are approved but yet I never had to fill out a rental application. It got late by the time we got done taking care of business so he told us that the security box with the key will only operate during 8am to 8PM so I then had to wait tell the following morning for the code wich did not work the first time about 20 min later he text me a second code for the key, it worked that time. After getting into the home we thought we were paying to rent, moving loads over 30miles back and forth, only got the stay one night on 3/27/21 Everything was going good at the time we had already paid our 1500 first month rent also. Then on 3/28/21 at almost 3PM I was texted a message saying you have been scammed now return the key to the box and vacate the property before the police are on the way. Shocked broken lost and very confused. I kindly said excuse me? And informed NO I have already paid and have the lease with a receipt. The only response I got was a laughing emoji face! We then had to go back and forth again to remove our belongings from the house that we thought surely this guy was the landlord, and thought we had the opportunity to rent the property. We then took the situation to the police and turned it over to the fraud department for American homes for rent to be investigated. We believe in our opinion that this scam leads back to AH4R and are in the process of getting to the bottom of this. I have done my research about this so called business, AH4R is impossible to get in contact with by phone or in person. They are never in the office even though it states they are open, the door is locked with lights on as if someone is there but noone ever is. The phone line goes straight to a busy Signal. Do the research yourself and you will see the news videos trying to contact them as well with no results. Just look at all the complaints from tenants and employees that work under AH4R! This business is horrible and Owes alot of money to many people all around the world. This is a nation wide scam, that I personally believe with all my heart AH4R has a major Racketarian going on for many years! AH4R You Owe my family and I 3000 + also all the hardship you have caused for many. Your day will come when your so called business will fall! I have proof! No they will never see that key again.
