My husband and I had a salesman come to our door after we moved in immediately offering us a life insurance policy. Him and his TM sat us down and went over policies and sold us a policy thru Americo. My husband after months found out our parents each already had a policy for us thru a different company and we didn’t need the policies we had been paying for every month. We then go to cancel and everytime I would call they would say I wasn’t the main policy holder and my husband had to call, so on the very little time he has, he calls and they say we need to send in a nortorized fax in and cancel, we do all that, we both receive an email about a cancellation. The following month, I’m charged again. I call, they now say that there’s one policy still active, mine. So I then say, ok I’d like to cancel and since we already just went they this process, I was familiar. So I call again because I’m upset that they wouldn’t tell us when we went to cancel the first time we even needed to fill the form out twice. I call to then cash out the amounts we paid into since we were paying for months and for hundreds of dollars at that a month for a life insurance policy that my husband and I to find out did not need, well they say we actually were paying into anything but to keep the status active and won’t be refunded anything. So you’re telling me, the second we bought our house, you sent a salesperson we did not ask for to sell us a policy that we were told we could get out of easily (which it has not been), that we were paying into nothing?! This company prays on new homeowners and will lie to you and take your money!!!! DO NOT GO THRU AMERICO.
