Total money lost $10,000
Type of a scam Home Improvement
They assure you they are a 7 billion dollar company and there is no risk of scam. While you do the job the are overly nice and complement your work.(kevin and jeff)
They than did not make there first payment. As soon as you start complaining as I did ten weeks after my payment was due. They conveniently start to complain the quality of work is not there and they throw you off the job conveniently
Than you will get a call from an unknown man named john dibella. He begins to threaten and intimidate you into leaving the jobsite quietly and not suing .
At this point you are screwed. None of them anwswe there phone
There is no local office intentionally to avoid the scammed contractors.
There is no line to call accounts payable at there corporate line in Georgia. A shady person with a cell phone eventually picks up if you call enough and they tell you sorry cant help
Eventually, you hire a lawyer. Their lawyer then reach out to you with a small settlement offer and a pre made hold harmless Letter for you to sign which alleviates them from any other legal jeopardy. Because the contracts they offer are not too big, they are very aware you accept a small offer to avoid further legal costs you will incur for your lawyer to Sue them.
This is a very carefully calculated scam. It must be stopped.
They tend to pray on small companys, companies without licensing or insurance and immigrants (other subcontractors that have been scammed)
When you call the FBI for the threats they express they dnt want to get involved
