Same scam, different item

Same as the previous experience except it is a free shipping container found on Craigslist. Everything else is the same ...venmo, referral etc. Very professional looking website and a live person to chat with to assure you that the container that is supposed to be in Boston is actually in California even though the company is in Las Vegas...everything stinks about this. If you send any money to this scam that was exposed with only an hour of research, it is on you. Be forewarned.

FREE CONTAINER

This person wants me to call their shipping company to reroute their shipping container to my address. They will not call them even though it’s their contract. I researched the name and finally found a number where the real owner which is a single person stated he knows these people are scamming people all over Texas and he has already contacted the FBI over the entire situation.

Arranged to reroute a baby grand piano and they advised that they accept Zelle, Cashapp, Venmo, PayPal, and E transfer as modes of payments and payment would need to be made up front. They asked to have an etransfer sent to their cashier’s Email - [email protected] and to send payment screenshot confirmation to [email protected]

This individual wanted to "hire" me as a video editor. They had me fill out answers for my field offered me the job without talking to me and wanted me to send copies of my Driver's license and social security card. I chose to research first and not on the level. I called the real company and was told another person was offered a job and it is NOT the real company.

The scammer was trying to “give away” a baby grand piano, saying his wife passed away. He wanted me to pay the shipping company $250 to send it to me. Here is the wording he texted:

Hi, I got through to the movers now in order to let them know they will move the YAMAHA baby grand piano back. All you need to do now is to contact them and make new arrangements as regards to the rerouting process. I also would like you to take some pictures when it arrives at your house and send them. All you have to do is go to their website at www.amg-freightsolutionstrucking.com, You will see a chat icon at the bottom of their website, You will send a message to them via their live chat to chat with one of their agents. The rep said you should present this Referral ID YAMAHA90157OMZ to initiate a reroute. Let them know Mr. Taylor Lawson referred you and give me feedback.

Item listed on ksl.com classifieds in free items. Responded to ad via phone number (517) 946-6988.
