They contacted me about a data entry position that paid 60$ an hour. They told me to contact them on zoom for an interview over the message system for zoom. They mentioned amazing benefits and he said how he had been at the company for years and it has been great for him and his family. The interview was bried he asked me two sets of 7-8 questions and had me reply (DONE) when done. After I was accepted they sent a check over for me to deposit via email. So i had to print out the check and endorse before I could deposit. The check was for a 100$ sign on bonus and 3,280$ total . 3,180$ was to be used for software going on a new apple laptop. This was really exciting despite how concerned i was spending money I couldnt necessarily verify. I sent a zelle payment of 500$ the first day and two of the same payments the second day. But the first day I sent money to vendor A and the second day it was to a separate vendor. The scammer then requested more which wouldnt go thru so they had me buy a giftcard for 400$ to apple and I provided them with the card info. They consistently asked for receipts and proof of purchases and payments. It would take some time in between the payment until they notified me of vendor confirmation. Evertything seemed incredibly viable and I was to start training in a week and a half so i wanted to have the resources available. Today when they asked for another giftcard (after I tried zelle payments but they didnt go through) they asked if Walmart was open and at that point i strongly felt that they were not based in eastern time as they stated (because Walmart is like always open). My dad called me as well to verify that there is no scam and when I pressed them about it they said they would send an offer letter. By the time I got home money was out of my account and I was left broken. If you need screenshots of our conversation I can provide that. Really hope you can stop them, I figured a refutable organization like AMGEN wouldnt do me wrong, and I was very wrong.
