I ordered a Walther PPK 22 from a website called ammoandrifles.com. It seemed strange to pay after I placed my order via text. I was text a name and email to send the money to using Zelle. Then I was asked if I wanted to do express shipping for $55 more. I paid the $55 for express. A few days later I received an email from 777 Global Delivery that My package was on hold because it was uninsured and is completely unsafe to deliver, unless I pay a fully refundable $399.98 for insurance. The next paragraph said “Trying to process insurance papers for this parcel will cost you over 10,000 USD with at least a month for the papers to be ready”. That sent red flags. I tried to look up the company and there is no information outside their website about them. Yet they are partners with UPS, DHL, British Airlines just to name a few. I texted the seller who insists they are a legitimate company and not to worry. I then told the seller that he was responsible for to pay the insurance as the seller. If it’s fully refundable, then there should be no problem. The response was “the insurance fee is refundable, once you pay for it they’ll proceed with your order and the refund. I have never been asked to pay insurance on a package I’m suppose to receive; especially, if the insurance is more than the item I ordered.
