I was suspicious, and said before I do that, what company, where are you located, etc. I received this reply:

I reiterated my question and got this reply.

I’d already googled it and found an Indeed.com forum discussing it as a scam in which they send a fraudulent check to victims for around $4000 to set up a home office. I replied that I was aware it was a scam and to leave me alone. No reply to that message, of course. The poor grammar, vagueness, insistence on adding them via google hangouts, and oddly formal address of someone with no company name mentioned until I’d asked repeatedly were red flags. Others in the forum mentioned other company names, but the details were the same.
