FEB 2022: I responded to an online ad for a free bottle of Anavale Skin Serum, used by Jennifer Aniston, which said I just needed to pay shipping. I looked for fine print to see if there was any catch, and I could not locate any fine print. I received a confirmation email from [email protected] on 2/16/2022, showing order total of $5.98. They charged my credit card $5.98 for shipping on Feb 16, 2022, listed on statement as, "OBVIOUSCLASSICWELLNE".

MAR 2022: Chase alerted my husband to suspected fraudulent charge of $94.78 for auto-ship subscription to Anavale Skin Serum (Mar 6?). We told them to reject the charges, as we did not authorize auto-ship. I called Anavale Skin Serum at 866-553-2099 on 3/9/2022, cancelled the "14-day trial" that they said I signed up for, and was told there would be no further charges.

JAN 2023: I received a call on 1/17/2023 from Anavale Skin Serum, representative Tanya Garcia (888-596-6077, M-F 9A-9P EST), who said my subscription was never cancelled, and that it was merely put on HOLD due to nonpayment, as I had changed my credit card number and they could not charge me. She said the subscription cannot be cancelled until I pay the past-due amount of $94.78 for the 0.5 oz bottle I received (which was advertised as free), since I did not cancel the subscription within 14 days. She said if I do not pay, they will refer the debt to a collector (which will affect my credit), resume auto-ship, and bill me monthly until I pay all past-due amounts.

JUL 2023: I received a call on 7/31/2023 regarding my Anavale unsettled account, reiterating that auto-ship will resume if I refuse to settle the account by paying $94.78, since I did not comply with the terms and conditions, and that unpaid amounts will be referred to a debt collector, negatively affecting my credit. I told her that no terms and conditions were provided to me and that emails from the company confirmed cost of $5.98 for a single shipment, with no mention of any trial period or auto-ship. I told her that her company is obligated to honor the cancellation and “no further charges” promised by their representative (3/9/2022). She said the cancellation is not honored because my credit card company refused the charge of $94.78 for the serum they shipped. I told her that I did not authorize a charge of $94.78, so their actions are fraudulent, as the serum was advertised as free, and that I had filed complaints against them with the ScamPulse.com and California Attorney General, and she said they are not in California. She said they are at 782 S. River Rd, St. George, UT 84790.

AUG 2023: I received an early morning phone call on 8/3/2023 regarding my Anavale unsettled account, reiterating that auto-ship will resume if I refuse to settle by paying $94.78. I initially spoke with Kevin Mike Williams. When I requested a bill be sent in writing, I was told they could not do that because the account has already been escalated. When I asked to speak to his manager, he told me that he is the manager. I requested the name of the company and physical address, and the agent verified the following:

When I asked for a suite number, he could not provide one, and I could not locate this company on Google maps, finding that this address is the home of many companies, none of them called Anavale. He then transferred me to speak with his supervisor, who introduced herself as Sam. Sam was not aware of any suite number either, and I learned that Sam was from a billing agency in Manila, Philippines. Sam said she could reduce my bill to $66.35, but could not produce a written billing statement, and could not accept a check by mail. She said I could pay by credit card, debit card, prepaid card, or gift card. I told her I didn’t trust their company, since I could not verify their physical address, and also because they refused to send a billing statement, and because they would not honor the cancellation communicated by their agent on 3/9/2022, so I was not going to share my credit card information with them. I suddenly got transferred back to Kevin Mike Williams who told me that if I didn’t pay and cancel today, shipments will resume tomorrow. I told them that if they did that, they would be losing money, since I am not going to pay them.
