The company tried to hire my sister for a Data Entry work from home role, and said they would send her a check to order a bunch of equipment from a private vendor - "Aquilon Software, Pronto Software, Apple Laptop MacBook Air, Laser Printer, Scanner, copier, Laminating Machine with 5 cartridges, Fellowes Micro-shred confetti-cut paper shredder" and the check would cover "home office equipment, including software programs, installation, shipment, hiring bonus and petty cash".

She was sent an offer letter from the CEO "Eric A Hanson, PE, SE founder and President, Ancor Engineering Inc".

She was also sent a USPS confirmation code of the check being sent.

She provided her direct deposit, I-9 and W-4 information.

She called the number and they confirmed it was a scam.
