Facebook accounts are being created by using photos from actual accounts. Therefore it would be used by the actual person saying it wasn’t them, in combination with associates together using account to collect money from anyone on friend list or other means of friend request etc. The person I thought was actually being extorted for $300 she said she owed “these bad people” for rent gave her until a certain day to pay the money or she wouldn’t be around any longer. She sent me a photo of her face bloody and had me think she was in San Luis Obispo at the hospital but under a fake name to protect herself. Same thread of texting now to my personal ph number and not Facebook states the bad guy is waiting for her to get her. She was able to answer a “security question that only she would know and that’s when I started to feel very concerned for her. I did not end up sending any money to her. However she shows up in San Diego in unharmed and swears to elderly man she scams like this also that she didn’t know anything about that incident. Now she has an account that looks like it’s from her relatives in Tennessee etc stating she died ( this is a few months later and a new scam) I am trying to verify the info but not able to and believe she again has collected money and is actually alive.
