Asking me to first download Skype-
“Then Skype can be used to communicate with HR Manager Mrs. Zoë Fox. Create a personal account to connect by searching her Skype Id (live:.cid.41deb3e1649be9f1) or by clicking her chat link https://join.skype.com/invite/JkjCkPoXi7Ut. Understood?.”
They first reached out via text message as a recruiter offering to set up an interview. Then I received an email with instructions on how to set up an interview. The email says to download Skype, follow the link, and the HR Manager would interview me. I expected a video interview, but it was a chat interview instead. They then sent me an offer letter 20 minutes later. Included were orientation forms asking for my personal banking and tax information. The HR lady on Skype then asked me if I had a mobile banking app where I could deposit an emailed check for work equipment. This is when I knew it was a scam.
