Angels Great Dane Puppies came up during a search for breeders while trying to find a puppy for training to be a service dog for a disabled veteran. Coordinate through email, text, and phone calls about a puppy called Rocky. Cost was to be $800 with transport from Arizona to Virginia included. This was paid through Zelle on 10 Mar with delivery expected 12 Mar. On 11 Mar about 30 minutes before the puppy was supposed to be shipped a message was received from the transportation company the breeder selected stating a refundable fee of $990 for the specialized shipping crate is required. Payment through gift cards was requested, but was declined due to the unorthodox and untraceable nature of the request. Payment was eventually provided through Zelle. On 12 Mar about 45 minutes before the puppy was due to arrive, the shipping company again asked for an additional fee of $2400 for pet insurance. This was declined and third party tracking information was requested to show the puppy was actually in transit. The shipping company stated failure to pay would result in the puppy being declared abandoned in Missouri. When it became clear no payment would be provided without proof the puppy was alive, well, in transit, and real the abandonment threat was repeated and contact was stopped. The breeder then was in contact about how it was wrong to treat a puppy like this and they would find a way to pay half ($1500) if the other half is covered ($900). When it was made clear that the third party tracking and proof about the puppy was still required the breeder kept pushing for payment. No puppy has been seen and no refunds have been issued.

In further research, when this clearly became a scam, it was found that the pictures of the breeder “parent dog” was on an European website and a near mirror breeder website (https://greatdanepuppieshome.com/about/) was active.
