I posted a dress to sell on Poshmark. I received a comment from a user (username: brendafcvgsdfff) saying that she was interested and would like to purchase the dress. She provided her phone number to contact to set up the purchase. I sent her a text message and we began the process to ship and purchase the dress. She mailed me a check, but this is where the real issues began. She said that she was working with another seller purchasing products from them, but they didn’t have an account to deposit a check for the payment at the moment. So asked if she could send me a check with a higher amount to include the cost of both my products and the other seller’s products. Then for me to transfer money to the other seller once I deposited the check. I agreed only after the check processed and the money was available in my account. I sent the first payment of $1,000 through Zelle to Frank Ditraglia ([email protected]). From there I showed her more items that I had for sale, so we began the process of shopping more of my items. From here came two more checks and the same process as before of me sending money to her other seller in return. I was also getting compensated for my services, which is why I continued to help. In total, I sent five more payments to Barbara Meehan (@Barbara-Meehan-16) through Venmo totally $3,470. In total I sent $4,470 to the scammer. I also sent two full boxes of clothing (41 items in total) to an address she shared with me. It was supposedly meant to go to her daughter for a birthday present. Even though the checks had originally shown up in my account, on November 17 the checks failed and were marked as a frozen blocked account. From here I stopped communication with the buyer.

Items to note:

• Her phone number is from a Houston, Texas area code

• The checks were from a business in Houston, Texas

• The return address on the check packages were from a construction company in Washington

• The address to send the clothes was in North Carolina
