The scammer claimed to be United Airlines. We called them due to a misspelling on one of our family members last name on their plane tickets. They told us that in order for them to change the spelling we had to pay $1700, but eventually a “manager” got on the phone and said he could get the fee down to $1100. They then sent us an email with the requested changes and said that we had to reply to it to confirm the transaction. We sent all of our information to someone at United Airlines Corporate Office. They called the scammers telling them that they were aware of them scamming one of their customers. Of course they tried denying the whole thing.
