The scammer presented a PayPal Invoice of money owed, $689.75 ($700) for a cell phone purchase (fake)! Unbeknownst to me, he pretended to be a businessman! This person logged into my bank account; I could see he electronically logged into my account on my computer! I got scared as he lied about depositing his business company money into my account to prove he was for real and legitimate! Soon I saw a deposit of $20000 in my bank account! He proceeded to figure that of those $20000, I was to wire him back into his Truist Bank account $19,300! The remaining $700 would be for the invoice of the fake phone purchase! Soon with instructions he emailed me directions to wire the $19,300 to his bank. He provided his bank’s name, account number, and routing number for the money wire into his bank account! Deep into this believable story, I followed and wired the money to his Truist Bank! The next morning, my bank attempted to stop the wire activity and return the money; our actions were too late! Truist Bank had received the wired money, deposited into scammer’s bank account, and released my money to scammer. It had to have been a very quick dealing. We have lost and continue suffering for this scam. We need help! A few days later, my bank contacted Truist Bank investigating for the balance on scammer’s account to collect my $19,300. Truist Bank wired the balance of $64.80 into my account! My bank found out that the scammer’s account balance was $64.80 and, that is how much I recovered of the $19,300.00! Now, I understand the scammer’s account is “CLOSED” due to “FRAUD Activity”! Now what can we do? Thanks ?? and Merry Christmas. Amen
