The photos and language on the listing/that he sent me were the same as the property's for-sale listing from 2021: https://streeteasy.com/building/580-marcy-avenue-brooklyn/2b
The video tour he sent me is the same as the original real estate company's video, with their watermark removed and his replaced, and clearly edited on CapCut.
The alleged "landlord" named in the lease, Victor Kelvin Mady isn't listed as an owner of the property in public records. The biggest red flag is that they wanted me to wire a $1,000 deposit before seeing the property.
I didn't send the money, but I did fill out the lease application, which included basic info like my name, date of birth, current address, a photo of my drivers license, and some pay stubs (with my SSN and bank account number x'd out).
