Type of a scam Identity Theft
The man who answered put a scare in me that I had 3 people who stole my identity, one from Mexico and two from China.
He told me in order to erase my information from those people I had to purchase three cards from Apple verification security key. Told me what stores sold them and then preceded to send me out to the store to purchase these cards. He stayed on the line to help me through the process. I couldn’t find those cards so he said I could substitute them for Google Play cards and get the same results.
How stupid am I!
The cards cost $100.00 each and he said once the clearing process from the hackers took place I would be refunded my money.
We’ll long story short, I was never going to get my money back and to show me how important it was to have a security system in place on my accounts which of course they could furnish at a ridiculous cost.
We’ll, that’s when I woke up because they wouldn’t take no for an answer and began to question the system I had in place. They also wouldn’t
refund my money unless I secured my accounts with them.
That’s my sad story but after loosing $300.00 I’ll never be so gullible again.
I don’t even know if Apple is connected to this scam but how could you know in the moment. They sure knew how to scare a person and they took off and ran with me once they saw how gullible I was.
Lesson learned a little too late I’m afraid. Just be aware!
