- Lakewood, CA, USA • Jun 24, 2024

Paid for initial diagnosis on air conditioner not working. I tried what he recommended (turn on fan and leave house) to defrost unit it did not work. I called back for him to come back and assess as he told me to do and I waited from 1 to 4 with a newborn and 2 young toddlers outside in blistering heat. He ended up calling and saying there was nothing else to diagnose and I could put a new evap coil for $3800 when he never even saw my coil it was in my attic. Told me to call another company. Was just a full on scammer. If you look at yelp everyone has had same experience. Ended up being a $10 part which he would have known if he was an actual HVAC guy.

- Huntington Beach, CA, USA

I first contacted repair person on 3/26 on Craigslist for our malfunctioning refrigerator around noon. There does not appear to be an actual business name. Repair person arrived late at our house on 3/27, after announcing that he had to deal with a servicing his own vehicle after running over a pothole. He began performed troubleshooting in our home in Huntington Beach, CA where I live with my elderly mother. He informed us that the fan needed to be replaced, so instructed me to first transfer him a Zelle payment ($233.94) before he would leave to pick up the part at a shop located a few hours away in Fontana, CA. I asked to see the part, and he flashed an image of it on his phone before retracting it quickly. He returned towards the end of the day, swiftly finished the repair and left for the day. During this time, we never saw him remove the product he claimed to purchase from its packaging, nor did we receive any receipt of the purchase or details of the shop. He told us that the refrigerator would begin working within 4 hours. We paid him an extra $155 in cash for labor, so the total paid for our refrigerator $388.94. It did not, and the next morning 3/28 it was still not working. I texted him, and he responded 2 hours later. By then, we didn't have a functioning refrigerator for 4 days. He told us that he would come by later in the afternoon but wasn't sure of his schedule. By the afternoon, I called since there was no news, and he postponed again, telling me that he would come first thing on 3/28, between 7-8am. Never arrived. I texted at 9am but no response. I called at 9.30am, only to receive a message 'This number has been disconnected and is no longer in service'. I have called the number again today 3/31, and receive the same message. I believe I have been scammed since I paid for parts and service, and the refrigerator malfunctioning status has not changed. Thank you.
