Once the item was added to the cart and you click continue, it doesn't take to you to a PayPal option or an option to enter your card info. You immediately get an email with a message that your order is on hold until you pay with an Amazon eGift Card. Instructions tell you to make the eGift card for the $159 amount and send to "[email protected]" and your order #. Once that is done, another email comes (posted) saying your order has been received and is being processed. There was no fee for shipping or tax.
I looked at their shipping policy and it said items will be received no later than the 18th work day after ordering. Seemed really random. It also said if you don't receive your item, they'll reimburse you the amount twice over "for the inconvenience." I ordered on 11/18, just before Thanksgiving, so I figured there would be a lag in time to receive it, but by 11/22 with no shipping notice, I emailed the "Appliance Tech Part" email from which I got the initial processing emails: [email protected].
I inquired about the shipping notice, and when the item might ship out in reference to my order number. I received no response. I tried calling from the multiple phone numbers on their site but they are both non-working numbers. On 12/1 I inquired again. No response.
I was worried I had been scammed, but just in case, I emailed BOTH the yahoo accounts that I have through their "process" on 12/7. I told them when I ordered, the reference #, the times I've inquired about shipping, and also that on Nov. 20 I received notice from Amazon that the eGift Card had been redeemed. I said that if I didn't hear back I would contact authorities in both of our states. I also told them both numbers listed on their site are disconnected numbers. No response. I plan to file a police report this week.
I should have stopped at the super weird eGift card thing, but didn't. In re-visiting their website, their shipping policy is completely different now with it listed as "3-5 days to receive the item." The content writers may also be foreign, or have really bad grammar, but they've tried pretty hard to sound professional.
In searching again for a Bose Soundlink guess what I came across? Another IDENTICAL website called Filmar Technologies that sells the same items at the same prices. They are at: filmartechnologies.com Don't fall for it. Look at them and at appliancetechpart.com. Identical with the exception of the location (Canada) and the phone numbers.
Here's the thing - both of these sites are highly similar to reputable companies Appliance Tech Parts (with an s) and Filmar Technologies located at filmar.com. So when you do a basic web search, these two come up with good ratings. If you don't pay attention to the subtle differences in the name you think it's a legitimate company, but they are very different. If a Bose Soundlink Revolve+ shows up at my doorstep, I'll take this all back, but I don't think it's going to happen.
