Company is a scam service whose business model relies on fighting chargebacks. They have no clue how to prepare a dissertation and use templates to try and convince people they are professionals. In my experience I got paragraphs where a citation (not even relevant to my study) was use 3 times in succession, over 100+ grammatical errors on a 10 page paper, and delay after delay. The last straw was where they plagiarized my OWN draft and sent it back with no adjustments. Their employees dont even have the required education level for this type of work and they are NOT operating in NY - you cant find a business license for these criminals. Try ND where they have a LLC set up.

I contact Approval Academic Consulting LLC after a Google search for help with my dissertation. I spoke with senior consultant, Kay Smythe, who told me about the process, appearing very excited, and writing long emails detailing the process. I was required to sign an NDA agreement and pay a total of $3000 for services. Being cautious but optimistic (and in desperate need of help), I asked to start off with only paying $500 to see how things would go. Via email and phone, Kay and I aggreeed that she would provide a detailed step-by-step action plan for my dissertation (after I provided my novel dissertation idea, my outline, and my measures). She kept promising that the action plan would be sent out soon and that her and her team "already had 60 of the 70 sources" they were seeking for my action plan. Day after day rolled around with nothing. By the weekend, I asked where my action plan was, expressing that I felt taken advantage of by the company which may be a scam. Kay told me the document was sent (it wasn't) and that she would need to talk to someone at the office to resend it (because apparently, she didn't have it despite working it). Later that weekend, Kay said she "worked most of Sunday" to finish my document and sent me my outline with her revisions however, all she revised were added italics to my sources. No other revisions. Also she said the document was sent prior to the weekend so why was she working all Sunday on it? Expressing my frustration, I requested a refund due to my lack of satisfaction. She told me I was paranoid, harassing, aggressive, and in breach of contract in an effort to gaslight me. I attempted to contact the company via PayPal to request a refund in which again they wouldn't own up to the false claims and said I was in breach of contract and harassing them. I am a PhD student and don't make a lot of money. $500 is a lot for me to lose but there's nothing else for me to do. If anything I worry they would take legal action against me despite the fact that I did nothing that wasn't within my rights and what was agreed upon. I have email evidence of their false promises as well.
