Debt Collection Scam
I and my family have received repeated harassing phone calls over many weeks attempting to collect a fabricated debt of a relative.
They threaten a lawsuit and get very abrasive when you ask questions regarding the validity of their organization.
I spoke with many representatives. eventually getting to talk with 'Antonius Barnes' or 'Antonio Barnes'.. most likely a fake name.. He is supposedly the owner, though the business is registered under Dyan Swift. He recited information about my relatives and even pulled up info about past speeding tickets of mine in order to try to 'prove' his validity, though that is all publicly available information.
They talk down to you and will not provide their business ID, physical location, parent corporation, any website proving actual presence, names of actual employees/owners with actual/verifiable business/professional (linkedin) profiles.
When you call, you always get one of a few people, though they say they are a large company getting thousands/millions of calls a day.
They often will drop the call when they know you are trying to get more information on them, and will begin to insult your intelligence.
They try to intimidate you with the threat of lawsuits.
