On 01-03-2024 I received a text message from Emma Gentile number 405-679-4016 to hire me to photograph a surprise 50th Birthday party for Joseph Gentile at 7 Avery Circle, Jackson, MS 39211 on 01-20-2024 for 4 hours. Future text started coming from a different number 405-978-4325. I sent a Quote for $792.83 and it was accepted in our online booking system and selected that a check would be sent to arrive on 1-12-2024. (USPS Tracking 9505512015440283747835) I suspected this could be a scam but decided to wait. I received additional text messages which came from a different number 405-978-4325. Emma wanted me to let her know when the check arrives. I decided to ask Emma to call me for event details at a particular time 7:00pm last night 01-10-2024 but the call did not come. Got a text this morning saying they got off of work late so Emma called this morning around 9:20am and Emma sounded like a man with a very heavy accent. It was so bad I could hardly understand him. He did say that the check would be for $1,992.83 much more than the amount I charged and the difference was for the event Planner. I hung up. He then texted me. (Quote from the Text) Just let me know when it clears and you can pay the event planner as well ahead of the event so my party doesn't get canceled. Sorry for the trouble. I gotta go now. work.
