I was left a very threatening voicemail by someone attempting to collect a claim from me. I was directed to a website which claims to have an account for me based on a phone number. It immediately asked for PII, last 4 of my social, and other contact information, which I did not provide. The voice mail was extremely vague with no mention to actual debts owed. I check my credit regularly and was required during my clearance investigation to settle all outstanding debts, so I know that I do not have an outstanding debt to be paid. This company is incredibly convincing, the website is the top hit on google, and is more than likely fraudulently taking money from people, or taking money from people without accountability.

Received a voicemail phone call stating that ‘the 10% savings to settle your account is temporary. So I urge you to lock in on the settlement of your account now even if you don’t have the funds to settle it. You can set up a partial payment plan or you can schedule your settle for a later date when you are able to pay it. As of now the 1099 fee tax form has been issued on this account, so please take care of that before further action is required. We do also report to the credit bureaus on all applicable account so again I urge you to take this seriously and take advantage of this offer. Our website address is www.asgrecovers.com.’

Upon further investigation by me, I found that the account in question was legitimate over ten years ago. So apparently these people are pulling old accounts that have already been paid and trying to get people to pay again. So be careful and do your homework! I pray that our senior citizens don’t get caught in these people’s scams!!!
