I have never heard of this company before. I have no debt and an excellent credit rating. On June 27 at 3:46 pm, I received a phone call which my phone indicated was “Spam Risk.” I ignored it. A couple of days later I was looking for a message and realized the Spam Risk caller left a voicemail. The first part of the message was missing, or I was being led to believe it was missing. The voicemail began with “…won’t be the last until we can get something figured out here. I did want to make you aware that the extra 10% savings applied to your payoff online is temporary, so I urge you to lock in this settlement on your account now. Even if you don’t have the funds to settle it, you can set up a partial payment plan or you can schedule your settlement for a later date when you are able to pay it. As of now, a 1099 state tax form has been issued on this account, so please take care of that before further action is required. We do also report to the credit bureaus all applicable accounts, so, again, I urge you to take this seriously and take advantage of this offer. Our website is www.asgrecoveries.com (or asgrecovers.com) I am legally required to inform you that this is an attempt to collect a debt.”

I googled information about the company. Apparently it’s a scam. This same recorded message (same voice and content) has been left for consumers all over the country who have never heard of the company and do not have any possible debt collections. The calls come from various cities, but all consumers report the call is labeled “Spam Risk” and that the caller pretends to be in the final stage of debt collection, even though this is the first time the consumer has heard of this company and the nonexistent debt.
