Type of a scam Employment
On May 27, 2023, I was contacted again, via text, with a job offer for Data entry at another company. This individual stated they viewed my resume and would like to know if I am interested. I said yes, and asked if they could disclose where they viewed my resume. The person responded "indeed." I knew, that whoever tried with ASPEC, is trying to scam me again using the business name Enpro Industries (which is a legit company). I said I was interested and they stated that my interview will be conducted through Signal, and to please download the app and an HR rep. will be in contact with me. I did not follow through. I feel this may have been their third attempt with me. Prior to receiving a text for ASPEC, I received an email for another data entry job for the company EEC. We, Richard Smith and I, were going through the verification process. I was asked to provide front and back copies of my driver's license, along with a clear photo of myself, verify my phone and last 4 of SSN. All three were submitted and info verified. Then I was asked, for payroll purposes, to provide my "username and passwords" to my bank accounts. I knew then, that was a scam and was furious that they managed to obtain sensitive information. I replied back to the email ([email protected]), informing him that no company will EVER ask for bank username and password. I received an email stating that there is a safer way to validate my information for payroll; I did not respond. That's when I received the text for remote position for ASPEC.
I kept the bad checks, and called the bank number listed on the check. The representative could not validate the check over the phone. I also kept the UPS package the checks came in, and on this package I noticed that there was a number (not my own) listed underneath my name. I looked up the number and found who it belonged to, along with her home address. Her home address is in the same area as the UPS location (in the Sam's Club, 1421 N Renaissance Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM 87107). I am here now, making a report in hopes this will help take legal action against this individual.
