I was sent a text message saying my resume was found on indeed and given an interview link and code. It was through the Microsoft Teams app so it didn't seem fishy. She told me about the company and let me know what the job entailed and then she asked a series of questions like an interview. After the interview she asked for personal information like name, address, phone number and email. She sent me an offer letter and stated that the company will pay for office equipment and internet but claimed due to delays, she would have to send me the check so I could get started with work. At first, she sent it through email which didn't seem right, so I asked if she could mail it to me. The check that was sent to me was different from the check that was mailed to me. I didn't do anything with the check because I didn't want my bank to come after me for the money later.
