This phone number keeps calling me saying I took out a credit loan and owe $1, 300.00 from an American company. I have NEVER taken out a credit loan. I have credit cards (2) that have been paid off and 1` other that I'm paying off and in touch with the company. I've been trying to straighten out my credit and now I get this caller telling me I owe.. This is a LOT of money and I'm not understanding. They want me to verify my ss#, DOB on the phone in order to give me information. I said they need to mail me, I've never received they said they have I need to know if this is a true scam or if someone took a loan out in my name. Nothing shows up on my credit

I have received phone calls daily stating that I have a debt that needs to be paid and to press 9 if I want to know more. So, I press 9 and the call always hangs up. That is the first sign of something phishy. I call the numbers back and spoke to an April, who states my name, my address, and the last 4 of my social and states I have a failure to appear at court for a debt on a Chase account and for the amount given. I call chase and they say I do not have this account nor does the account exist. So I call the phishers back and the say the debt is valid but then hang up on me. I call back and then they hang up on me again. I am only concerned as to how they have so much information on me and how I can protect myself from fraudulent activity being done in my name.
