I was trying to renew my TSAPreCheck through TSA. The website address looked legit, I missed that the end of the url was not .gov, but dot com. The website looked very familiar the TSA PreCheck renenewal in the past. I put in all my information, put my CC in for payment and I was declined. As I was doing this my email dinged and I looked over to see it was wells fargo emailing me about the charge being declined. TSAPreCheck was the description from BRAZIL. I put in my Name, DOB, Current Address, Last Address, Passport number and expiration date. Answered a bunch of questions, etc, then put in my CC, Exp, and CID. The bank is on it, but this is unreal. They have all that info on me and my Visa Debit Card and there is not much I can do except wait an hope they cannot hack into other accounts.

Unfortunately we fell for a fake TSA pre-check website. We entered our name, address, email, passport number, date of birth and credit card information.

I Googled tsa-pre and the top result was:

https://tsaprogram.ttp.us.com/

The site looks very official and tells you that this is the way to enroll for TSA pre check. You fill out an official looking online application and pay $140 and then they send an email with your interview time and location as well as what to bring. But when we got to Staples, they said there is no interview and we were likely scammed and had us pay $85 for our TSA precheck.

I wanted to get the Global TSA precheck. I completed the application. I received an email saying the payment was processed.

As I completed another applicant I received a fraud alert and it says Brazil. It didn't send an appointment with TSA.

Was looking to renew my TSA precheck. Was the first site that came up on a Google search. Is a secure site (https.) and has the looks of a third-party, contractor website processing renewals for government services. Struck me as odd that the fee was much more than the typical renewal fee as stated by the DHS website. My card did not go through, so did not lose any money. But they still got a lot of info (address, passport number, known traveler number, etc.)

I quickly was trying to signup for TSA Precheck. Assistgov.com was the first entry on Google. I had no idea I was paying a $140 fee for them to submit my TSA Precheck form. I thought this was the correct form. I am supposed to bring another $85 to the appointment. This is a scam. The TSA Precheck form is easy to submit. Assistgov.com is out to steal $140 without people realizing that they are not the government. Be sure you are on the correct site for TSA Precheck and Global Entry. TSA Precheck should cost $75 and Global Entry should be $100. Don't get scammed. No way to reach anyone either to cancel and get a refund.

I got an email that sounded legitimate because my TSA Precheck is expiring soon. They told me I could renew online and so I filled out the form with my known traveler number, passport number and information, name, address, etc. it wasn’t until I started to pay that I realized it was a scam, because they were charging $225 and the real cost is only $85. I am afraid that will steal my identity and use my passport information fraudulently. What can I do?
