Type of a scam Employment
Offered me $30/hr, work from home, benefits, they'll pay for all the equipment, will fly me out to SC where they're headquartered for orientation, and they'll pay for my home office equipment. Sent me a check for around $6,600 for my office set up. Check was from JP Morgan Chase Bank NA and the account name said Association For Computing Marchinery, INC. Never asked for my bank info, never asked for my social security number (but wasn't going to give those out anyway).
They wanted me to deposit the money, then in 24 hours deposit the money to their "equipment vendor" at a Bank of America account. Wasn't going to do that until the money was actually there in my account. My bank is the real MVP here as they had put a federal hold on the check, and, no surprise, the check bounced. I didn't get the money, but neither did they. Never heard from "Mrs. Ann Blanton" again. Bank charged me $19.00 for returning the check, but better $19 than $6,600.
